So we did it!
We brewed two beers, tapped a slew of beers brewed by other amazing women, decorated Mike’s restaurant all in (GASP!) pink, and threw a huge event to raise money to send a woman to brewing school! We auctioned off some really rare beers, and raffled off some great stuff as well.
And we have some people to thank!
First of all, Jennifer Muckerman and Half Full Brewery. We cannot thank them enough for opening their doors to us and helping us brew our Saison and Pink Peppercorn IPA. The staff of Mikro learned SO MUCH from Jen and had such a wonderful experience!
Next, thank you to Precious Putnam and the fine people of Beer’d. We raffled off some awesome gear, including t-shirts, a hat, and glasses.
Thanks to Jeff and Denise from Stone Brewing, for donating the GIANT 3L of Double Bastard to auction off.
Thanks to Two Roads Brewery, and to Emily and Meghan for continually helping us.
Thanks to White Birch for donating a pound of hops to raffle off. You made a home brewer very happy yesterday!
Thanks to Dave Fitch for donating your brewing equipment for the ladies’ pilot batch, then for donating a 2000 De Dolle Beer for the auction.
Thanks to Jeff Browning for donating brewing supplies to the ladies.
Thanks to Heather McReynolds and Adam Lang from Sixpoint Brewery.
Thanks to Back East Brewery as well for their donations!
Thanks again to everyone who came down, pitched in, or just gave us support!
For those of you who missed the chance to try Mikro’s beers, you’ll get another chance this Friday March 14! We are pouring both the Spiced Pear Saison and the Pink Peppercorn IPA at Cheshire Wine and Spirits for Team Jennifer event to benefit MS.

Oktoberfest is a 16–18 day festival held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, running from late September to the first weekend in October. It is one of the most famous events in Germany and is the world’s largest fair, with more than 5 million people attending every year. The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture, having been held since 1810. Other cities across the world also hold Oktoberfest celebrations, modeled after the Munich event.
MiKro will be holding our own Oktoberfest Party on Sunday 9/25/11 to celebrate the occasion. We’ll be loading up our draft lines with oktoberfest styles from germany as well as some american craft versions. Chef Mike will be preparing traditional dishes to accompany the beer and we’re working on the Oompah music. Lederhosen are optional.
